A client needed better insight into their customers’ needs to help them leverage the vast amount of big data they were collecting through their products. Our team went into the field and interviewed customers in three markets to better understand what information was important to them and why.
We came away with a clearer understanding that the data would need to be presented as contextual recommendations that helped users achieve business goals. Charts and graphs showing trends would just be ignored by this audience.
To communicate this vision to our client’s internal stakeholders, we created a number of user scenarios, and visualized them with storyboard sketches and high fidelity screen mock ups. Generic labels and placeholder text would not sell to this audience, so our application concept contained fully thought out functionality and real data.
The reaction was so enthusiastic, funding was secured to develop a minimum viable product mobile app.
